I posted a few videos but have been unable to post to blog. My phone won't allow it for some reason. So here is what has been going on my Youtube channel the last few days!

Recycled Bath and Body Works wax

Recycled wax.

Left: Sandalwood Citrus
Right: Blackberry Bramble Tea and Holiday Wish

Bring water to boil in pot. Place burned out candle in pot, or if you have wax chips, place in a glass container that you will not be using for food. Melt wax. Remove container with tongs. Use heat safe mitt or oven pad to hold the bottom while you pour into a new container you have prepared with a wick. I use recycled containers from resale stores. Stabalize wick while it cools to avoid crooked wick or sinking. Let dry overnight.

Enjoy!

Holy hauls!

For the record, I do not buy a zillion things in one day. Sometimes I'll stock up some things and then upload videos. I also may sometimes recieve things as gifts or buy something to show you, and then I may decide there was something else I had wanted instead. I do not ever take anything back to Bath and Body Works unless it is a dud or it is new and unused. I only took something used back one time because I didn't like it. It was part of the frosted candles collection and now I don't remember which one it was.

That being said, I do have a lot of bath and body works, but I never ever pay full price, and I always have coupons.

I burn through candles really fast. I think I've burned through like 15-20 since June. I always try to time things so I don't spend more than $8-9 on a candle.

Also I have suggested this in a previous post, ebates.com is a wonderful tool that gives cash back. I've also resold in order to be able to purchase additional things to review.

I really enjoy sharing the products and I hope people enjoy the channel and blog.

2015 scent outlook

Some of these we all already know about, but Kelley Michelle has put together a wonderful list on her blog. Check her out!

The Celebrate Your Spouse Project

This post is not going to be Bath and Body Works related, but I'd like to post it to this blog because I want it to be inspiring and uplifting. Scents do that in a way to people as well-- help us to recall happy memories and make new ones.

This is the Celebrate Your Spouse Project. I talk a lot about "Celebrating" people in your life. It's an element in relationships that so many people miss and it attributes to the rise in divorce. However, I also see so many examples of people doing this everyday and setting example for what an imperfect, but loving relationship looks like. No relationship will ever be perfect, but what's important is that you work on it and grow together.

Celebrating your spouse can be big things like announcing to everyone how important they are in your life, to small things like showing off their talent and creativity in a subtle way, or even just enjoying simple pleaures in life together.

Are they real? Well, they came from my Facebook news feed, so I get to share with you also some wonderful people I know. Knowing all these people, I know some of their ups and downs and struggles they've shared. A few of them are typically men and women of few words, but mean every one of them from their heart, others are very free with their love and compliments. "Love" is thrown around so casually by people, especially online...so this means more to be able to share people I know and the genuine depth behind what they say. I've blocked out their last names for their privacy. This is a work in progress and I'm starting with some posts that have stuck out in my mind. I wish I could share with you all the living example of people I know that make these orts of things part of their life routine but just don't post it on Facebook, but unfortunately, posts must do!

These are posts I've collected from people that had no idea of the project when they posted. The post was from their heart and that's what caught my eye:

Celebrating the simple things

A man of few words, but many pictures

This requires explaination. Vicky's husband did a Kickstarter (and succeeded) and she constantly was posting to encourage people to support his project. She even changed her profile picture to the logo.

Candle Collection Photo

So yea, I have a candle problem. The shelves aren't completely full, but it's a lot.

This bookshelf I got at a resale shop owned by Kiwanis. They are nonprofit and all proceeds go to charities and programs like underfunded school programs.

Ways to save beyond coupons

There's a way to save beyond just the coupons you can find for Bath and Body Works. The second way is to buy discount gift cards for less than face value.
How is this possible? Many companies such as CardHub.com, Gift cards.com, Plasticjungle.com buy unwanted gift cards from consumers. They can sell them for 75-96% of the face value and either get a check or cash delivered via PayPal. In turn, these companies sell them for 5-30% off of the face value of the card and they get their small cut.
So this is a way that you can in a sense double your coupons. Use your coupons in store and use your $25 (or insert value here) for the $21.27 or whatever it is you actually paid for it. Genius! Am I right?
Happy Savings!

Bath and Body Works Pumpkin Cafe 2014

Pumpkin Pecan Waffles: Delight in the scrumtious scent of pumpkin pecan waffles, pure maple syrup and a touch of brown sugars

The be all, end all, to everything a baked good should smell like.

Pumpkin Sugared Doughnut: Fill your home with the fragrance of a freshly baked pumpkin doughnut made with autumn ugar and pice and everything nice

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin: A fall harvet inspired by delicious homemade treats -- pumpkin pie, vanilla crean and spice

Smells along like pure spices

Bath and Body Works Artisian collection review

Blackberry Bramble Tea: The art of tea. Sweet and fragrant blackberries combined with a hint of ugar and spice take a cup and saucer to new heights.

I really like this one and sad I missed out before. It smells like a rubios tea brewing, with its nice, fruity flavor.

Sea Salt & Maple Popcorn: Sweet Vermont maple and just the right dash of sea salt make light, fluffy and perfectly crunchy corn absolutely irresistible

Smells like maple syrup, spices, and lightly salted and unbuttered air popped corn.

Banana Nutmeg Pudding: A scrumptious new spin on the traditional bread recipe -- creamy banana, freshly grated nutmeg and brown ugar are mixed into a sweet indulgence

Smells like banana bread

Bath and Body Works Double Fragrance Candle Review

Golden Woods: A blend of pine needles, vetiver and creamy sandalwood conjures up the moment when a forest sunset turns into sheer golden rays.

Smells like Sandalwood Citrus with spices and pine. SO good.

Sapphire Sky: Exquisite sky blue sapphire inspired this airy blend of white musk, fresh bergamot and creamy light sandalwood

Smells like Topaz Waters to me

Crimson Velvet: Make this astoundingly elegant blend of creamy Madagascar vanilla, velvety milky accents and exotic sandalwood your home's signature fragrance

Smells like Cranberry woods to me

Online Coupons

So I previously did a post about my coupons store. Most of the coupons I sell are good ones that you can only get in store or being part of their mailing list. However, if you need a coupon and the ones the store gives aren't valid when you go, there's a few sites to check out. The top two being Retail Me Not and Ebates.

Retailmenot.com you don't need to be a member or sign up. All you have to do is look for your favorite retailers on their site. They'll list current sales that store is having in red, the online coupons in green, and the in store coupons in purple. You can print them or have the clerk scan the UPC/enter the code on your smartphone.

Ebates.com I confess, I'm new to this one. They offer many of the same coupons as retailmenot, but through their special links, you get money back on.your purchases. You do have to sign up to use this.

Happy Hunting!

Welcome

I recently started Vlogging Bath and Bodyworks and White Barn reviews and hauls on my Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/skatardrummer1

I might kinda sorta have a small addiction to Bath and Body works. Why am I the Bath and Body works Culturista? I know way way too much about it. I'm not really the guru necessarily of all their lines and collections, but I know a fair bit about the company's marketing and operations just by observation. Some of this knowledge is advantageous to the consumer, some of it not so much because I know what they're doing to me with all these emails and sales and I let them!

Bath and Body Works and White Barn are exceptionally customer oriented.

Exhibit A:

I called Bath and Body Works before the Black Friday 2014 sale very sad because the White Barn cardboard coupon I had got wet and turned into a pulp. I asked them for a new one and they didn't have one, so they mailed me a $25 gift card. Uhm, yea, of course I'll go to your store! You just totally gave me free money! Of course then in the meantime, they send sales and coupons to my email every day. You know I spent more than $25 on Black Friday.

The next is these Semi Annual Sales. They get rid of all their backlogged stock for the whole year 50-75% off. If they're selling stuff that cheap, how much do you think they're making off of transactions? Coupons? Of course they exist to let us believe we are getting a deal.

Probably Bath and Body Work's most iconic thing in Customer Service is being able to return a product with or without a receipt. Even if it's used. The receipt may vary by store on used items. Who does that? I broke a candle in the store once that slipped out of my hands. I felt so bad, and the staff was all worried that I cut myself. I'm not entirely certain many places hold to the "you break it you buy it" anymore, but usually they aren't that nice about it.

Finally, the marketing. Oh the marketing. Bath and Body Works has the most INGENIOUS marketing strategy of all time. They send out emails daily and mail out coupons only to their current customers pretty much. They don't have to advertise on billboards, TV, radio, or magazines, yet they make an ungodly amount of money. Why? Their good customer service and their psychological games with sales. They turn their customers into collectors, then into reviewers, and then all the reviewers become their advertising. Seriously, HUNDREDS of YouTube videos and channels dedicated to Bath and Body Works.

I know that they do this, but I love their products just the same. I love candles and the quality of the candles they have achieved is next to none. Many companies use parafin wax, a few use soy. Bath and Body works uses a vegetable wax combination and super high quality fragrance oils that give them a throw without par.

I hope to provide some good reviews and news for you guys. I have a White Barn and they put out test scents periodically, so hopefully I'll have some interesting things to share!

As a side note, if you want to save my link as a mental note, it's bwculturisa.blogspot.com, not BBW. Even though it might make sense, people might get the wrong impression ;)
